Join or start a group with peers having same interests and goals - hold discussions, collaborate and share resources online. Groups may be open or restricted.
Find a Group+
When you navigate to the Groups section of the site, the list of active groups will be displayed
You will see 3 tabs:
When you click on "View Group", you will see the Group home page, showing latest updates on the group - Member activity, Group conversations, Resources, Events
Join a Group+
To join a Group: click on the link provided for this.
For groups that are:
Displays the following information: description, who should join, and group contact.
Discussions meant only for the members of the specific group can be held in this area. Members can: start a new conversation; read comments to existing conversations; reply to existing conversations
Posts in the Conversations cannot have attachments. In cases where you need to refer to a document, please send the document to the group owner/contact for posting under Resources for the group. Please note that documents must be in PDF format.
Documents and videos that are being shared only among the members of the group. Resources can be viewed two ways - list view and folder view.
Document formats accepted are .pdf and .xls. For videos, share links from public youtube videos.

Important Note: Click on the "Notify me on updates" to receive notifications on updates for the group.
Go to my groups+
Lists all the groups that you belong to. Select the name of the group to be taken to this group's home page.
Displays the members of the group - name, job title and thumbnail photo, if provided.
Clicking on a member's name will take you to the "Member Connect" service where you can send a message to the member via the COIN in-mail.
Start a Group+
To start a Group: click on the link provided for this.
You will be taken to a form where you can enter the information about the group you want to start - group name, type (open or restricted), objective, and who should join your group.
Your request will be forwarded to COIN Community Management, who will evaluate your request. Upon approval, you will receive a notification and your group will be online and show on the list on the site, with you as the main contact. In the event that your request to start a group is not approved, you will receive an email with that information.
