About Us

County Innovation Network (COIN)

COIN has been specifically designed for the use of County and local government leaders, officials and their teams, to make their day-to-day work more efficient and effective through peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and collaboration nationally.

COIN is brought to you by the partnership of National Association of Counties (NACo) and Solutionize Inc., leaders in community collaboration services. NACo steers the community direction and governance, and Solutionize developed the service, manages and evolves it. The partnership has developed usage policies and governance processes that will ensure optimum collaboration and communications, while meeting strict privacy requirements.

COIN provides the following services, which are available ONLY to local government members:

  • Information sharing (documents, articles, videos, etc.) - these can be made private or public, at the user's discretion
  • Connecting with "helping hands" in the community, around areas of expertise
  • Conversations around key topics of interest, starting with:
Technology and Innovation; Resilient Counties; Green Government; Smart Justice; Cyber Security; Healthy Counties; Large Urban Counties; Rural Action
  • Top of Mind postings to spark conversations - about topics of immediate interest

COIN provides additional benefits for NACo members: specifically, access to the NACo App Store, to share across County membership solutions that have been developed by other NACo members.

Suppliers to local government participate in COIN as follows:

  • Uploading educational materials about their product genre and solution case studies, for download by local government members
  • Providing experts as "helping hands", available to the local government members to answer questions and start a conversation
  • Providing a storefront to showcase relevant solutions, products and services for use by local government

The aggregate of COIN storefronts will be a comprehensive catalog of solutions, products and services, searchable by local government, with supporting experience and ranking by users

The result? A nationwide peer-to-peer knowledge exchange with collaboration, to enable local government to do more with less, faster and more effectively, and with increased reach into the wisdom of the crowd.
